We are the Bergmanis family, managing our organic farm “Upmaļi” for already five generations.
Upmaļi consists of 87 ha of meadows of European significance, bird habitats, forests, fields and gardens. Upmaļi is a cherished property of the Bergmanis family for over 100 years. The property was acquired in the late 19th century, restored after World War I, and developed into an outstanding farm. It was lost during the Soviet occupation and regained in 1989. Since 1991, Upmaļi has been certified as an organic farm and also serves as a learning, demonstration, and seminar facility. The farm cultivates various medicinal herbs, produces teas and tinctures, and organizes educational seminars. Māra and Dainis Bergmanis, together with their children, restored the farm in 1989. Māra creates recipes for the 'AnnA Bergmans' brand, while product production is a collaborative family effort.
