How We Work
Family business
Our entire family is involved in the careful cultivation of our gardens, as well as in the production and marketing of our products. Some of us do this every day, others when their main job allows. Many in our family have mastered reiki, various Eastern healing methods, Ayurvedic massage, and the basics of phytotherapy.
Biodynamic and organic farming are just as important to us as herbal medicine. And yes, that includes developing recipes for tinctures and teas. This requires constant learning, new knowledge, and continuous development.
In harmony with nature
If we want to save the world, we must start with ourselves. We do not use any synthetic mineral fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Compost, crop rotation and green manure keep our soil alive and fertile.
This is the only way to grow truly valuable medicinal plants. We avoid plastic packaging as much as possible – our products are mainly packaged in glass and paper. In our gardens, we rely on tried and tested "smart technologies" – our hands and hoes.
Quality and traditions
From seedling to finished product, everything happens here in Upmaļi. This is the only way we can ensure the quality of our organic products.
When producing tinctures and creating tea blends, we combine scientific knowledge with ancient, traditional heritage. Herbal teas and herbal tinctures are a valuable aid to maintaining health in Latvia's wet and cool climate.
Transfer of knowledge and experience
Nature, the earth and plants are the foundation of our existence. Without them, we cannot exist. That is why it is so important for us to cultivate and protect our meadows and gardens. It is equally important to take care of our health with the help of plants, nature, and ancient healing methods.
We are happy to share this knowledge, which has been passed down through generations and accumulated over almost 40 years, with the participants of our excursions and seminars in the Healing Gardens. Together with the special sensations provided by medicinal plants, trees, and the beautiful surroundings of Upmaļi.
